The verse that I’ve been hung up on this week, that keeps popping into my head as I move throughout my day, is Ecclesiastes 9:10. I typically read The Message, but since this is a single verse and The Message doesn’t have verse numbers, I’m sharing with you the New International Version:
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV)
I’m not going to preach to anyone on my Wednesday posts, I just want to share what’s been on my mind. This week’s verse keeps coming back to me, especially when I’ve got a million things I need to be doing and I just don’t feel like getting a move on. I like to think of the Amanda Translation of this verse as, “Sleep when you’re dead. Just get up and do it now.”
Sometimes I just need a kick in the butt to get motivated!
